Who didn’t love this song in 1994?
One more before bed.
The best music video of all time. Great song. Bangin’ babe. I ASPIRE!
M.I.A - Bad Girls
George Harrison - Wah Wah
I love this man, and I love the music he makes. We could all learn from his shifts from one movement to the next. SO SATISFYING!
I love this song - Reminds me of my boy :)
I could listen to this little part of the song over and over. The rest of the song I could do without.

Beatles and Guitars
I’ve just started possibly the best paper I’ll ever do at uni’ called, ‘Invasion to Anarchy’. For the first 6 weeks, we are just talkin’ Beatles (pretty much). So, for homework, I have watched an 8 hour Beatles documentary, and consequently have caught the bug. Pun intended. (George is was my favourite). The hysteria that followed them absolutely captivates me!
In other news, my guitar is on its way to my itchy fingers, and I cannot wait! Two more weeks, they say.
These images from Oliver Barrett is mixing my two obsessions, so obviously had to share them.
What a great song. And the video just fills me with joy!
Wazzat? Good NZ music?
Directed by Matthew Hope and Reuben Stephens
Hoo-eee!
I know I’m late catching on to this one (but you guys know me, I’m late on/with everything.) I’m really loving this song and video right now! Check out Saint Vincent’s other stuff, especially her live work. What a babe! She is everything I want to be. And a little bit more.
Thanks Alex for the suggestion!
30 Days, 30 Years - A Challenge!
Starting April, I am doing something CRAZY different. I am going to dedicate the 30 days to listening to music from (at least) 30 years ago!
I wanna do this ‘cause I am curious to see how the music affects my songwriting. I once heard someone say, to make original(-ish) music you have to go back to the beginnings and go from there. I don’t know if that’s true, and 30 years isn’t quite “the beginnings”, but we’ll see what happens.
So, my rules are:
- 1st - 30th of April
- 1981 is my cut off year. (Unfortunately The Smiths don’t make the cut. Aw man!)
Exceptions are:
- Classes: I study music, so no doubt I will have to listen and play things outside of the challenge
- Friends: I won’t dominate my friends stereos if they don’t want to partake or push it if they have had enough of my tunez.
Exciting! This is going to be me soon:
(The wagging finger is probably me telling you that I’m way more legit. 2legit2quit.)
This blog is a good way to see how it’s going, so ‘follow’ if you like! Also, if you feel the urge, challenge yourself as well! It’ll be nice to do it with other people to share our new ‘indie’, ‘vintage’ faves! LAWL
So, as The Cars say: Let the good times roll.

Best concept for a video ever. Though I’m sure getting cats dressed up and then getting them to sit still long enough is really difficult…
